Fun ultrasound

Even if you are not a client with us, you can have a fun ultrasound made in our practice in Amsterdam.  With every ultrasound we do a medical check-up with your child. Sometimes specific details are visible and need further examination. You can make an appointment by telephone of via our contactform.

We can see your baby in 2D (black and white) throughout the whole pregnancy. In 2D you get beautiful images of your baby’s profile and we can assess the body contours and organ structures. With every fun ultrasound we will also try to portray your child beautifully with the 3D technique. From week AD 24 weeks you will get the most beautiful images of your child’s face with this method. We also use 4D technology, which are real time moving images.

At Femme Amsterdam we work with the Voluson E10 and S6 Expert. These are the most advanced devices of the moment. You can admire your child in sharp and colored images. Afterwards we always give you a set of printed photos (in black and white). You will receive one color print photo of your choice from the most beautiful photo. We also send the photos to your phone or mail them to you)

If you want to know the sex of your baby after the 13-week ultrasound (IMITAS study), you can book an extra gender-determining ultrasound from 13 weeks!

Particulars: Around this term, your baby is often upright in the womb, a full bladder tilts the womb a little. Therefore, do not pee at least an hour before the ultrasound, so that we can often better visualize the gender.
Costs: A single ultrasound costs €55. (This ultrasound is included in both our Excellent and Premium package.)
Duration: 20 minutes.

You can have growth ultrasounds made from 24 weeks. By doing multiple growth ultrasounds during your pregnancy, you can keep a close eye on your baby’s growth line and see whether your baby has normal growth. An enormous increase in growth can, for example, indicate gestational diabetes and in the event of growth retardation we will refer you to a gynaecologist who will then keep an extra close eye on your baby.

During the growth ultrasound, the size of the head, the waist circumference and the leg length are measured, together this also gives an estimated weight. We place all this data in a graph, so that we can closely follow the growth line of your child. We also check the amount of amniotic fluid and the position of your baby.

Particulars: Do not urinate an hour before the ultrasound. A full bladder lifts your uterus a bit, so that we can get a better picture of the gender.

Duration: 20 minutes

You can have this ultrasound performed from approximately 24 weeks. On our super beautiful ultrasound machines you can view your baby live in black and white and in color! Whether you get beautiful images depends on the position of your baby, the amount of amniotic fluid and the position of the placenta. If the baby is in front of it, you have beautiful images in which you can often recognize family traits. A 3D ultrasound is made up of several 2D images. A 4D echo is moving 3D images in color and we also call it ‘HD live’. We print these photos for you and also send the photos and videos to your phone in color.

Particularities: It is best to have this ultrasound between 26 and 30 weeks. Your child has already developed some fat on his or her face and there is still relatively much amniotic fluid. The closer you get to 40 weeks, the harder it will be to get a good 3D or 4D image.
